A 403 Forbidden error message can occur when trying to access a link to the Library Catalogue. This is caused by system firewall settings with one of our suppliers. Below are some steps you can try to get around the error.
Go directly to the Library Website and then re-paste your link
- After you get the error message, open a new tab and go directly to the Library Website - https://library.lincoln.ac.uk/home
- Click into the URL field at the top of the window and paste in the original link to the catalogue item
- Close the tab with the 403 Forbidden error
Use an Incognito / In Private browser window
- Open an Incognito / In Private browser window (this is usually found in the 3 dots menu in the top right hand side of the window)
- Paste the link into the URL field and press Enter
Closing and re-opening the browser tab
- After you get the error message, close that tab and then re-open a new tab
- Paste in the link again and press Enter
