You will need to install the FileOpen plugin in order to open some PDFs from our providers.
How do I install it on my own computer?
- Go to FileOpen Client Installers homepage and select the correct link for your operating system
- Open the installer and follow the instructions
- Once installed, you should be able to open the PDFs, however you may need to re-download the document
How do I install it on a University computer?
You will need to be on campus in order to install this plugin on a corporate laptop.
- From the start menu, search for the Software Centre
- Click on the app to open it
- Click on Applications on the left-hand side of the window
- Locate the FileOpen Client (x64) B996 and double-click on the icon to open it
- Click Install. The install should only take around 5 minutes and you may need to restart the computer to confirm the installation
- Once installed, you should be able to open the PDFs, however you may need to re-download the document
Please note: PDFs will not open in-browser. Some browsers will open PDFs in-browser as default behaviour. This will cause an error - you will need to open the document Adobe Reader
