We'd recommend accessing online resources from the University of Lincoln though our Library website.

If, however, you have accessed a resource from outside this website, or cannot access something you'd expect to, you may need to log-in directly, known as access by shibboleth:

  1. All provider websites are different, but there is usually a log in/sign in link on the page. It may say Log in via your institution/Find my Institution.
  2. Look for the word Shibboleth, or log in via Shibboleth.
  3. You may be asked to select your Shibboleth federation which is always the "UK Access Management Federation"
  4. You should then have the option to search for your institution, in this case it would be University of Lincoln. Make sure you select the correct University of Lincoln option in the UK.
  5. Once you have selected your institution you should be presented with the University of Lincoln log in page. You can now log in with your University of Lincoln username and password.

A full example follows but if you are still experiencing access problems please contact us.

Example - Taylor and Francis

The log in link is in the top right hand corner of the webpage.

You should then find "Log in via your institution". Click on the Shibboleth option.

Search for your institution - in this case "Lincoln".

You will then be redirected to the University of Lincoln log in page - use your University of Lincoln username and password.

The publisher's website should then say somewhere "Accessed provided by University of Lincoln" and you should then be able to access all of our subscribed content.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to access an article/chapter/ebook, which you think we should have access to, please let us know via our E-resources Feedback Form.

Where possible we recommend using Google Chrome and regularly clearing your browser cache and cookies for all time. We have an FAQ on how to reset my browser cache for multiple internet browser options.
