Please follow the steps below to export references from EndNote to Refworks.
- In EndNote 2025, from the top menu click on Tools > Output Styles > Open Style Manager...
- In the Style Manager, scroll down the list and select the style RefMan (RIS) Export
- Once selected you can close this window
- Back in the EndNote Library, select the reference or references you want to export by clicking on them.
- To select multiple references drag your mouse curser from the bottom of the reference list to the top to select them all, or, select the first item, hold down the shift key on the keyboard and then select the last reference
- To select non-consecutive references, click on one reference, hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then select another reference. Keep clicking until all relevant references have been selected.
- From the top menu, click on File > Export
- In the pop-up window that appears, select an appropriate place to save your file
- Enter a file name in the File Name field
- Change the Output Style to RefMan (RIS) Export
- Click Save
- Login to RefWorks
- From the top menu, click on Add+ > Other file types
- Either drag and drop your file or click on 'select a file from your computer' to select your file
- If not already selected change the RIS Format to RIS Format UFT-8 and click Import. The references can be assigned a folder at import or a new one can be created.
